We’ve got four people who answer the phone, run the cameras, and climb the ladders. What ties us together isn’t a handbook - it’s that none of us can stand leaving a job half-explained. If you’re in Olympia, Tumwater, or up toward Lacey, you’re getting one of these four. Here’s who we are.

Corrine Halstead, Owner
I started this in 2009 after watching too many homeowners get a verbal “yeah, it’s fine” and a bill with no photos to back it up. That’s why Clause 4 of the Haven Standard exists - the documented photo record on every visit. I still climb when we’re stacked up, mostly to keep my eye on creosote patterns in the older Olympia brickwork. You’ll see me around the Westside or out near Priest Point Park. I grow zucchini in summer, badly. The plants get tall enough to hide the garage, which is fitting, since that’s where I keep my old tool belt.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been running Level Two inspections since 2016, and he’s the one we send when a chimney hasn’t been opened in twenty years. He’s NFPA 211 Level 2 certified and specializes in masonry evaluation - he’ll call out spalling brick, crown deterioration, or liner gaps by sight, then confirm with the camera. Homeowners in the Governor Stevens area know him because he stops to explain what the photo shows before he moves to the next section. Off hours, he restores vintage motorcycles and brings the same patience to a 1973 Honda that he brings to a cracked flue liner.

Jenna handles our liner pulls, cap and crown replacements, and anything that involves working with HeatShield or DuraFlex materials in tight spaces. She came over from commercial HVAC in 2019 and took to chimney work because, as she puts it, “the flue doesn’t lie - you can see exactly what happened.” She’s our go-to for cricket installations on steep-pitch roofs around the Eastside and Budd Inlet, where the rain hits hard and the flashing fails first. She keeps a notebook of every liner dimension she’s installed, going back five years. Her dog, a nervous border collie named Printer, rides in the truck on Saturdays.
Darnell R., Service Coordinator
Darnell answers the phones, schedules the sweeps, and makes sure your written price and scope land in your inbox before anyone knocks. He’s the one enforcing Haven Standard Clause 1 - the “Have it in writing” part - and he’ll walk you through the photo record setup so you know what to expect. He grew up in Tumwater, worked dispatch for a Tacoma HVAC company for eight years, and joined us in 2021 because he wanted to work somewhere the price wasn’t a surprise. He coaches youth basketball at a middle school near Capital High. He remembers every customer’s name and usually asks about the result before you can bring it up.
Avery P., Apprentice Technician
Avery started with us in 2023, straight out of a construction program at South Puget Sound Community College. They’re learning the full sweep and inspection process under Marcus, and they’re already certified for basic cleaning and Class I creosote removal. Avery’s detail-oriented in a way that matters - they measure flue dimensions twice, label every photo by timestamp, and ask questions when something doesn’t match the last report. They live in a house near Watershed Park with three roommates and a wood stove that they now insist on sweeping themselves. We’re working on that.
